Ravensara: a great essential oil for all age's, from infants to adults

Ravensara in Indian means the good leaf. The essential oil is believed to have a balancing quality on energetic boarders.
Ravensara is a great substitute for eucalyptus oil when treating respiratory problems.
When small babies have a cough or chest congestion eucalyptus oil is not recommended because it is to strong. In stead you can use Ravensara oil by either defusing it in a oil burner or applying it topically with a almond base oil (ten drops of essential oil to one teaspoon of base oil) to the chest and upper back. For a more intense treatment you can put your head over a bowl o steaming water, put three or four drops of Ravensara oil into the bowl and but a towel over your head and the water.

Out With the Pyramid And In With the Plate

We can probably remember the food pyramid as our earliest symbol of balanced nutrition. But it seems that our children will be being introduced to a colorful plate as they are taught about healthy eating.

The Department of Agriculture educated the public with its food pyramid for years. But experts have criticized the pyramid and found it lacking in certain areas. The new plate feature should address many of their concerns and be more user-friendly.

Drug Has Potential to Rid the Brain of Traumatic Memories | Health News

Drug Has Potential to Rid the Brain of Traumatic Memories | Health News: "adrenocortical steroid synthesis inhibitor"

The above link is about the use of a drug that reduces levels of the stress hormone, Cortisol, during the recall of the traumatic event. What I find to be very interesting is the similarity between this idea and a meditation technique known as the Eraser Technique. The way it works is that you bring yourself back into that memory with as much intensity as you can and then you interrupter the pattern. For example at the peek of intensity of the memory you imagine everyone with bunny ears. And you do this over and over until what happens is the memory becomes silly instead of traumatizing and then is easier to deal with. Easier said then done and I am sure with really bad memories it sounds imposable. But the drug does the same thing just chemically. It make it that the memory does not cause stress.

I actually wish that I could get myself to drink green tea instead of coffee, just because I know it`s so healthy. Now I am pretty sure that the health benefits of green tea are what motivate most people to drink it. But truth be told the taste is very pleasant as well. Whatever the reasons are tea is the second most consumed beverage on the planet. The first most consumed beverage is water.

Are you looking for relief from irritated skin? Some good herbal solutions to sunburns and bug bites

I`m not going to explain because if your reading this you are looking for relief and that what I want to give you.

Sunburns – First aid, get some aloe vera leaf, cut off all the skin and thorns and apply it directly on the sun burnt skin. Shea Butter mixed with lavender and tea tree oil should be applied to the skin generously until it has fully recovered. Next time you are out in the sun make sure to wear protective clothing and suntan lotion.

Bug bites – lavender oil applied directly to the skin can do wonders for helping get rid of bug bites fast, also it helps to relieve the itching right away. If the itching is too much and the lavender oil just doesn't cut it, you can try using mint oil. Mint oil can't be applied directly to the skin so add twenty drops to a teaspoon of olive oil and put that on to stop the itch.
